I just spoke with Wayne Cain. He and his wife Paula will be joining us at our reunion. Wayne and I were together in Iwakuni in 1966/67 and also at El Toro through 1969. Looking forward to getting together with Wayne and all of you in October! TODAY is 85 in Sunny California...breezy and beautiful. We're headed to the beach in a few minutes! Surfs up and Semper fi, Swanny

Hello, Checking in. Went back and read some post on the CHU LAI post. Makes a guy think about all the friends we have made over the years. How blessed we are. Larry, was that you i remember that caught on fire when lighting the smudge pots? Anyone remember the rats that were in the mess tent under the metal pallets? How about all those card games we had? I remember building the bunkers we had between the huts, sand bag after sand bag, i hate sand to this day.

Larry and Joe P. I got a e-mail from David Haven yesterday. You should remember him from Quantico 1969 era. He is retired from the railroad after 40 years and his wife is getting ready to retire from Miami U. Sounds like they are doing great. Joe D.

Hows it going Joe P.,Larry and Stretch and all of the Gang? I just returned from Northern Michigan. I visited my uncle who was a Cannon thingyer back in the early 60's. He still bleeds Green! He spent most of his time at the Stumps,we had a great time and donated some greenbacks to our Indian caretakers of the Michigan gambling establishments! Weather was great and also got to hookup with an old doorgunner by the name of Buzz Shantry. We went through ITR and Memphis together. It's been 41 years since we last laid eyes on one another. It was a great Mini reunion! Some of you might know him bye PopaSmoke. Well we're getting some of your extremely hot weather out here on the Left Coast! Yuk! 95 at the beach! Come on October! looking forward to the Reunion....Semper Fi!...Swanny

Hey, Dale.
I know Popasmoke, by way of other Marine websites. Way cool that you actually served with him. Small Corps, yeah?
As you have now seen, the site here has an anti-profanity program. ;D
