Does anyone recall Sgt. Blackwell from MS? I believe he was from a town named Taylorsville. Hope everyone is doing well!

Larry KI'm not positive, but I think there was a Blackwell in Chu Lai. I remember he was going to go into the Army to be a helo pilot. And pick up warrent officer.............LarryK

I knew a Gunny Blackwell at Cherry Point in the '60s ,Also a Gunny Reid at the CC school & Chu Lai, any connection? A Roberts

Arley, That's about the right time frame (early 60's) for Gunny Blackwell. I was discharged as an E-4 and lucky to be able to say that, so it must have been another Reid. Do you recall any specifics about Sgt. Blackwell? Thanks for the reply! Jim Reid

Jim, Was stationed w/Gunny Blackwell at Beaufort "63-'65. Story was he never served a full tour overseas. Was w/ him on Steel Pike One in Spain. He was returned to States early. Hope this helps you. George Coneset
