I served with Larrry Ritter in Chu Lai in 1968-69. I knew Larry Ritter to be a very likeable, honorable Marine who was respected by all he came in contact with. My condolences go out to his family.

Larry and I were together at Chu Lai, Vietnam. I was his section leader at the time. He was a smiling and very likeable young man and was willing to any job assigned to him. I never had to worry about him completing any task assigned to him. I am so shocked to learn of his passing. He will be missed a lot!!

:'( We would like to thank everyone at the AFFR for the beautiful wreath that was sent and for all the kind words and prayers for our family for I know in the days adead we will surely need them for we will miss him dearly, you see he has been home bound since 05 due to a stroke and was left paralized down his right side and also had CLL Cancer from Vietnam but it was still stable and possibly could stay that way for years, but then last Thankgiving the doctor told us they found another Cancer and it had already spread down his spine in his lungs broke ot through his skin and could be other places and he probably only had about six months left. The past five years mom has stayed home to care for him and in all this time he stayed umble and loving even though we knew he was in terrible pain he suffered so bad that last week and still stayed strong for mom. He has been an inspiration for our family and our Hero, you see he is me and my brothers step dad but we never put step in front of his name and he never put it in front of ours, we take comfort now knowing he is no longer bound to a wheel chair or in pain he is a new man in a better place. Thank you all so much and God Bless. :'( Betty

I had the pleasure of serving and knowing Larry (Cpl Ritter to me) in ChuLai. Was a great person and was a great teacher. I believe i have some pictures of him and when i get them into my computer I'll send them to the AFFR. I'm sure that Larry is one of Gods gate guards now and doing his job with a smile. Semper Fi Cpl Ritter.
