Hi jackye. Welcome to AFFR Association Message Boards. Most of your questions can be answered by reading the topic "Question by Joe Lymons". There is a Crash, Fire, and Rescue at every Marine Corps Air Station or any place the Marine Corps Flies Airplanes, Helos, Jets. I can't really tell you any thing About Goodfellow, TX. I was trained in Millington, Tenn. Where I also was an Instructor for CFR. But that was in the 60's. I will tell you your Son will get the best training there is. He will be a Fire Fighter when he gets out of school. He will be assigned to an air field and contuine to train. And when he learns, and he will learn, He will begin to train the newer Marines. If I can answer anything else for you E-Mail me at kpoppop2@aol.com I'll be glad to help you out. I am sure some of the Guys who went to Goodfellow will give you some input about there. Again thank you for asking and let us know how he is doing after all he will be a brother CFR. Semper Fi Larry k

from my understanding your son will be a DOD FFI and FFII, Haz-MAt OPS EMT, all before he gets into the fleet, which is impressive even in the civilian fire world. He will do a llot of training hopefully with civilian fire depts as well as withCFR or as it is known as now ARFF.
The stations that have ARFF are 29 Palms, Mirimar, Beufort, Cherry Point, Yuma, Kaneohe Bay, Futenma (Okinawa), Iwakuni (Mainland Japan), and Quantico. forgive me if I have forgotten any. I will also be happy to give you any info that I can if you e-mail me yoshpa@yahoo.com
