Wyndwalkr needs some help from his Crash Crew Brothers in verifying his service. He has some memory problems, and can't remember many specific details regarding his time in the Marine Corps. He sent me the following e-mail: I have searched for 8 years for someone who I served with in Japan from 71/72 under Bill Robinson, I think he's a Kentucky Marine. Me too. I made some statements about military service only to have it SHOVED up my ass, Because I thought it would be on my DD214 ,,well its not and now I have a daughter who hates my guts because her Father said he served in Japan and can prove nothing. Stretch, before I make a bucket list I need some help to prove this, I have Lindsey Graham, Honorable Senator from South Carolina on board to assist in the search. It would help him cross referance the records, if I can find Mike Blain, John Kincade, Mike Green. These are the ones I can remember for sure. Gerry Solard sent me a pic of AFFR in front of house at Iwakuni. He does not remember me. I am in it but there's no name on house. Brad Hieatt Do you know this Marine...?

Brad, Stretch... I would suggest with military personal records in St. Louis. Telephone is314-801-0800 or the web site WWW.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personal/index.html or send a e -mail to MPR.CENTER@NARA.GOV I know they are really backed up.......... 6 months to a year before anything happens. I guy can even get all his ribbons and metals replaced ....no cost I have been waiting about 9 months for my medals. Terry

Brad's reply:
military records do not show duty station they only show,, fpo seattle unless you served in vietnam, then it will show service ribbon and in same box it will show time in country. Over in right hand corner or box of DD214 it shows NO overseas time, all duty time was in states. if you know someone who was in japan look at their DD214 see what it says. Terry is correct but it will not show Japan on mine thats what I HAVE to get corrected .YOU do not realized How much I appreciate your help..

I just looked at my dd214, Stretch is correct on this, it just shows foreign service. In section 24 of the dd214 it also shows the ribbons and medals received, if that doesn't appear I don't know what to say. Wish I could help more.
