Eric, has anyone stepped up for the vacant post yet. Larry K. might be interested since he did come in second. Just a thought. Semper Fi JoeD.

A couple members have stepped up to be considered.
As posted in the latest AFFR Newsletter, the Secretary to fill in for the remainder of Lee's term will be appointed by the Board.
Taken verbatim from the Marine Corps AFFR Association By-Laws:
Section 2.2 - Vacancies
In the event of death, resignation, or removal of an officer, the board in its direction may elect or appoint a successor to fill the unexpired term
I posted this section from the By-Laws to show we're not making up rules as we go along.
There's lots of work to be done this time of year, and another election would take at least a couple months and about $150 in printing and mailing expenses, so to save time and money the Board will appoint a successor.
Names of volunteers and / or nominees should be forwarded to Bill Young as soon as possible.

Joed47 & Stretch-Has anyone heard from LarryK recently? Plus, what is your guess on when the selection of the 'Replacement Secretary' will be made? Reason,I asked was after that activity is complete; we will need to ask for help in our creating a 'West Coast chapter formation? Swanny should be the focal point there in So Cal-first,get as many AFFR personnel as possible;next to to get active'Fire Fighters'from bases in AZ,CA & HI? We would have to get a point of contact in each group? We know there will be a major effort to get this going?Semper Fidelis-RichW/43

Rich, I say foot in mouth is better then head up ass. Hope all have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Am going to punch a few hole in the hard water. The best thing about ice fishing is your catch doesn't spoil and no one else is around.

Terry, It is understood that you & I might not agree? I understand your positions & possibility from where you are coming from? My reference today of "Foot in Mouth Disease" was for something I shouldn't have done? Stretch Straightened me out! I was much to "Gung Ho" in trying to start on 'Beating the Drum ' on the formation of a 'West Coast Chapter' & used the Rooster? Hope you had a good day-Ice Fishing?-Rich

Rich, Thats what I was referring to. I don't think you are to gung-ho, you are just trying to help, and your help is needed. Ever ones help is needed.
As far as not being in agreement with each other, no big deal not many people agree with some of my rants. Like I said before opinions are like not a very nice persons we all have one.
Still love all no matter what. If we all had the same ideas these forums would be boring.

Terry,There is one thing which is clear the people here, went to either 'Parris Island' or 'San Diego'? Also,WWII personnel had other bases to go too as part of their overflow for 'Boot Camp'? Remember,by law the 'Corps' could have only 200K' Regulars' & the rest would have to be 'Reserves' during that time. OK,we also received some kind of 'Crash Fire Fighting & Rescue'Training, which gave us either; the earlier MOS-'6461' Or later on the MOS-'7051'. That does make us ;Brothers' & 'Sisters'! I say to you it was a shame that I didn't find this organization sooner? Would have very much like to have seen-my mentor- Bill Kane, again? As,I said to you before;"I plan on help forming & set up the 'West Coast Chapter' of this organization." By the way,you might consider in also joining;because you live in a State that is in the Western part of the country? Be a 'Joint Member'-but right now,all we are doing is trying to find out interest? My best to all-Semper Fi-The Crazy Old Man-RichW/43
