Fellas, I think this is a huge mistake. I love this land and would defend it again, but our leaders need to learn that we can't make all other countrys have the same government as we do.The people of Iraq will free themselfs if and when they decide they want. I really do feels so sorry for all of these service men and women who must serve in a war zone 3,4,5, or more times. Most of us will not see this land and our people recover from this. Lets all pray for our country and our service people. Pray that we don't end up in another Vietnam. I hope that this opion does not offend anyone.

I am covering the home front.
A thousand, nay, a hundred thousand Iraqi civilians are not worth a single KIA American.
Saddam is dead, the new government is in place. Time for us to leave and let the arabs police the arabs.

Contrary to popular understanding, Islam did not begin with Mohammad. Most of the practices still embodied in Islam had their beginning in pre-Islamic Arabia. Mohammad repackaged the pagan worship associated with the Ka’aba in Mecca into a monotheistic form.
It is also important to distinguish between the Allah of Islam and the God of Old Testament. They are not equivalent. Allah is presented as unknowable and capricious. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob delights in making and keeping His promises. Jesus summarized the entire Law of Moses in two commandments: Love God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself. No where does the Qu’ran admonish its readers to make such commitments.
The Qu’ran calls for a warrior agenda. Islam divides the universe into two parts: Dar Al Islam: the domain of the faithful (to Islam); and Dar Al Harb: those with whom they are at war until Judgment Day. The agenda of Islam is conquest, by the sword if necessary.
This perspective can be confirmed by examining three areas: their sacred writings, exemplified by the Qu’ran; by a review of their history of conquest and cultural imperialism; and by an inspection of the Islamic countries and their propagating a legacy of hate and repression on their various subjugated populations.
These views may appear shocking, especially when contrasted with the popular propaganda promoted in the West. But it is essential to personally investigate the many competent materials available, and to really understand the agenda that lies behind today’s headlines.

Thanks Mike for your insight. I'm glad we're all on the same track. That's why I asked for everyone's thoughts on the subject. Some Congressman and Senators still treat us like second class people when we all should be treated with respect. This includes everyone not just what is politicialy correct. Thank you again. Semper Fi and have a great life. Joe D.

Thanks Joe, Also things won't change until we reach their children and stop them from teaching their hate for everything thats not Islamic! We are not the Great Satan! This is the Greatest Country in the world, and we have our faults, but I wouldn't trade places with anyone in any country in this world! I just wish our left leaning Press would realize it! And our Congress and Senators Too! We do not need to kiss Europe or any other countries Ass and beg them to like us! I think this mess is going to continue for quite some time as the radical Terrorists really do want to kill us! So my brothers I will continue to pray for our brothers in harms way and for our country too!God Bless the USA and our Fellow Marines!....Semper Fi!....Swanny

Just wondering, All those who replied to this question, Is your thoughts still the same. I made my comment a little over a year ago and I still think we made a huge mistake and I still don't think we can recover from this war. This country will be paying for this blunder for many many years to come. I still pray every night for our men and women in uniform.
May our LORD and SAVIOUR watch over them and keep them safe.

Guys- I feel we have to fight terrorists & the question is where? Over time ,I have become more against the current bunch of 'politicians'-both sides! Our Combat Arms Military (Active,Reserves & Guard) has been used up & I don't see how it will get fixed;other than reuse more of the same forces?) After reading the previous posts;I very closely go along with what "Swanny" wrote on Feb.3,2007-"He & I think alot alike!" So, I say many prayers for my sons & their comrades! SEMPER FIDELIS-RichW/49

I'm back & the thoughts running around in my thinking are: The Department of Veterans Affairs will & have to be redone & improved? All,of us in a fashion being 'Veterans' have had experiences with this organization? Some good ,some bad & some? To cover those 'Disabled Vets' coming into the System & get treatment-Changes have to be made? Talk is cheap;but can they make the required changes in time? The VA needs $ added to their budget for personnel, equipment & facilities;it has been cut-cut & cut again? Now is the time to treat the new wounded & injured? Secondly,Improving Military Housing for Families-Some new building is happening;however, not enough is being done for the expanding planned Communities? They need our help & we should speak out?-RichW/49
