I am a AFFR member. I didn't retire, spent 8 years in. Would have spent more, but wife at the time you know. Stationed at Quantico.
Am I welcome at the reunion? Think a guy with just 8 years will have fun? I love the Marines, and AFFR.
Besides eating and drinking, a little info please. May just come if sounds tempting and it already sounds tempting.
Thanks

Hi. Welcome aboard. A lot of us have done a lot less than your 8 years. Everybody's equally useless here. ;D You would be absolutely positively welcome at the reunion. That's what AFFRA is all about... reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. There are Crashies of all ages, duty stations, years, and ranks. We have single-termers, retirees, Active Duty dudes, enlisted, NCO's, SNCO's, Warrant Officers, Commissioned Officers, and various combinations thereof. There is no rank structure here. We're all on a first-name basis with each other. Some of us are old friends that served together, some are newer friends that we've met through AFFR Assocation. Give me a shout if you have any questions. I believe I gave you my number. If not, email me at stretchman67@gmail.com and I'll give it to you. See you at Quantico.

Stretch how is the turn-out looking? I'm not sure, really. I myself have received RSVPs for 30, but the majority have been sent directly to Bill. I don't know what his RSVP count is. He and I both process the checks we receive, and I then forward my names and numbers to him so he can tally for a grand total. He then contacts Quantico (soon) with that total number. It ought to be a nice crowd, perhaps 80-100 attendees, including spouses.

NEW DEVELOPMENT...
For those who are not familiar with the layout of Quantico's Crash Barn, it is on the far side of the airfield from the main road. You have to cross the active runway to get to the Crash Crew.
There is a new development in regard to access to Crash Crew for Saturday morning's open house and barbecue.
Below are the requirements by HMX Security Admin for Airfield access. Please call, write, or email Bill Young ( carincash@gmail.com ) with the following information ASAP:
Full Name SSN Place of Birth
If you are not on the access list, HMX Security will not let you cross the airfield.
Guests who do not desire to give this info to us can contact 571-494-4810 and initiate the process themselves.
See you there.

I talked to Bill last week, and his count (which includes mine) was around 75 including spouses and guests. But I have reeled in 8 since then, perhaps Bill has a few more also.
Perhaps 90-ish... maybe.
