HEY STRETCH, THEY GOING TO GIVE YOU A HARD TIME ABOUT A MOTORCYCLE AT THE GATE? I remember having to take a course on base and I think they require reflective vest. In florida we dont need insurance on bikes, bet base requires it.

You only have to show proof of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course if you need a permanent base sticker. I took the course at K-Bay in '87 (but lost my MSF card years ago).
Visitors are cool with a temporary pass, which requires valid motorcycle license, insurance, registration, and a sponsor. If you're on our Reunion List, you're sponsored.
Required on-base riding equipment: DOT-approved helmet with eye protection, long pants, boots with a heel, full-fingered gloves, and hi-viz reflective vest (which I wear anyway).
I rode the same bike on board Cherry Point a couple years ago.

I'll have to pass on the bike this trip. dont carry Insurance on it down here and wont add just for the trip. when I was stationed in Quantico I had a Yamaha Verago 750, road that to florida several times (dont know how thinking back- on a 3 day weekend) 825 miles one way. Did enjoy couple trips to see family in West Virginia 64 is a beautiful ride thru western Va. and across W. Va. Currently ride a Harley Electra glide standard.

Family was in Huntington and Ona. so when I rode across I rode across state. Love the ride. Hawks Nest Park, love the T-shirts from New River Gorge Harley Davidson. It shows bunch of bikers in leathers and viking helmits in rubber raft going down new river gorge- passing ander the bridge. Someday I want to see JUMP_DAY when they close the HWY> and let the base-jumpers parachute from the bridge. Have tried to post pictures on board so far havent figured in out
