WASHINGTON (Reuters) "I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed."
"It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said.
Someone needs to help this idiot get his head out of his ass.
How exciting, the though of someone shooting at you is his idea of romance. Very sick. Over 4000 men and women have a romantic experience, just for his pleasure.
Second thoughts......... leave his head where it is maybe he will choke to death.

He had a chance to do just that 40 years ago, but he joined the Air National Guard instead.
Must've slipped his mind.

And the alternative is? 50 more years of war and families stuggling to make ends meet because a millionaie feels our pain? (please) With the republicans leading the pack and waving the saber trying to make the Middle East have a democracy? Come on England couldn't do it, Russia tried and got its a$$ handed to them and BenLouden sets in Pakistan and thumbs his nose at us and the Republicans praise the Pakistany support on terror? I am ready for change we had 8 years with Bush and went from having a surplus the largest difficit in history how much more prosperity can we take? If you want this S%!t to end then make the rag heads step up and run their country and put their military in place. The classic screw up is when big Dick and Lil Bush took all the public officals, military and government workers out of office with no contingancies in place? If you look at history Patton kept all these people in place to try and keep things running and was fired because he wouldn't listen to Washington and remove them because they were with the Nazi party. He knew some since of order needed to be kept and after the firing stayed with Pattons plan. All Channey and Bush did was cause a giant cluster F!!K. What great thing have they done? And last week he finally had a revelation that the economy was in trouble what a leader. This is my only my opinion but its like a$$wholes every body has one! Semper Fi

Terry, Have we been attacked since 9/11? I think no matter who we vote for it will be a Democrat,as McCain is not a conservative. The real shame of the middle east is when that peanut farmer blinked when those college kids took over our embassy! That gave them the go ahead to screw with us,and we kept on blinking! But we probably won't agree on this either, but as always Semper Fi! my brother!!! that is one thing that makes this the Greatest Country on Earth!! We can agree to disagree and not have to worry that someone will make us disappear for voicing our opinions!!......Dale

on War By VoteVets.org | Press Release PUBLISHED: March 14, 2008 AFGHANISTAN VETERANS EXPRESS DISBELIEF AT PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS ON WAR Nothing "romantic" about it, say combat veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom WASHINGTON - Veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) expressed shock that the President believes the war is "romantic" and "exciting." (Source: www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23373394-23109,00.html ) Below are just some of the reactions coming in to VoteVets.org, from those who served: "We finally have empirical evidence proving that President Bush has absolutely no idea what war is all about. A Commander-in-Chief with such a child-like view of combat is in no way fit to lead America's Armed Forces during a time of conflict. Having served in eastern Afghanistan myself, I can assure you that there is nothing romantic about being decisively engaged with Taliban and al Qaeda elements for 15 months at a time. While President Bush thinks it would be a "fantastic experience" to fight in Afghanistan, it is anything but fantastic for our troops currently there. They are undermanned and under resourced because the war in Iraq--a war for which he is responsible. If President Bush had any decency at all, he'd refocus our military efforts away from Iraq, so that we could once again take the fight to Osama bin Laden and those who attacked us on 9/11. Unlike the Commander-in-Chief, those of us in the military haven't forgotten our national priorities." -BRANDON FRIEDMAN, OEF VETERAN (2001 AND 2002, ARMY) "As a combat wounded veteran who served in Afghanistan, I have to disagree with the President's assertion that the war in Afghanistan is romantic. There was nothing romantic about having to dig through our trash during operation Anaconda because we ran out of food and were awaiting a resupply. As American soldiers always do, we accomplished the mission; but there was nothing romantic about it." -BRIAN MCGOUGH, OEF VETERAN (2001-2002, ARMY) "I didn't feel like there was anything romantic in not seeing my daughter grow up, in watching Afghan children starve to death, in explaining repeated deployment extensions to my soldiers, in explaining to Afghans that we were there to keep them safe - while knowing that we would never have enough troops to actually do so. No, Mr. President, there's nothing romantic about being sent on an important mission and not being given the tools to accomplish it." -JIM MORIN, OEF VETERAN (2003, ARMY) "President Bush is wrong. I seriously doubt any of us Infantryman in Operation Anaconda found it exciting or romantic when the Taliban and al Qaeda were firing mortar rounds at us and our fellow soldiers." -WILL KING, OEF VETERAN, (2002, ARMY) VoteVets.org is a pro-military organization committed to the destruction of terror networks around the world, with force when necessary. It represents the Voice of America's 21 Century Patriots - those who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. It primarily focuses on nonpartisan education and advocacy on behalf of troops, veterans and their families. ### Terry

What do you expect from a group of politicians that either didn't serve or worked to stay out of the mix? Bush got a waver and placed in the Air national Guards and didn't even do his obligation. You know it was because of his daddy? My brother tried to go into the Guards and because of the war he wasn't allowed but got his draft and went in the Army served18 months in Nam was a POW and Bush partied. Then Chaney got 5 deferments for college. Gates,Rice they never served and here we have a President who thinks it is romantic? I joined the marines in 1971 but never served in Nam but I was willing to go I volunteered I new it was what I wanted to do? So when I hear some a$$whole tell me how important this war is and wishes he could go it makes me mad and flat pi$$e$ me off. I support the troops and hope we can get out of Iraq with some honor?

Because we worked our a--es off to get where we are today and never complained or collected welfare and set around on our a--es and do drugs or whatever. Some people think we are wrong. I say screw-off to all of them. As long as we keep working to support there dumb a--ss they have nothing to say. It would be easy to collect what they think we owe them and have no pride, but I believe they can't be called MEN even if they think they are. Enouth said by me. Semper Fi to all MEN and WOMEN. JoeD.
