UPDATE, Nikki had the drain tubes removed and the staples taken out this morning. She is feeling better but still won't look at herself in a mirror, don't blame her. I really feel sorry for her.

Terry, You and Nikki continue to be in our thoughts & prayers. You, undoubtedly are her strength right now. What a blessing that she made it through the surgery and you have your bride home with you. It's a great deal of work to be a caregiver~you can do it~before long you both will be feeling stronger. This is the time I wish we didn't live as far apart so we could help you out. Thank you for the update on Nikki's progress, God bless you guys! Semper fi, Dale

Howdy,to all, Glad to hear Terry & JoeD families are doing better! Yep, keep them & all others in your prayers or what ever one does under your religion? ;D It's funny no matter when we were in USMC or USMCR;we see things from our time on active duty? An Aircraft? A time &/or duty station? Things that happened? :)If one wants to bring back "Marine/Naval Aviation"go take a tour on the USS Midway Museum,Aircraft Carrier,CV-41,in San Diego Harbor. Plan to do it,with our 2010 Reunion, when you are at MCAS,Miramar,CA. :PHey,now we start planning for the 2009 Reunion at Quantico,VA! Semper Fi-The Crazy Old Man-RichW/49

Fellow AFFR Forum Members- Here I go Again? ;D Our troops are going back to Afghanistan in force again? The 'Rock pile' needs 20k-30k additional forces, by Summer'09. They have to replace those troops from other nations, who now have to return to their home countries? :DWe need to have a 'Mandatory Two Year Service' at age 18--Military,Social or Medical functions? Like Israel!!! :-Xtrain them as USMC-V2, Support personnel? You run them through a 'Boot Camp',then they go to their work areas? :PSemper Fi-The Crazy Old Man-RichW/49

:DMy Rant- This continues my prior thoughts ? I forgot to include ,"Criminal Justice" ,as part of last listing;some would fall under the 'Military'-USMC & Other Services,or over under 'Homeland Security ', in their areas of coverage-USCG, Customs & Immigration & others? Stretch, JoeD ,Larry,Swanny, MikeC,Terry & all others--Hopefully,you are all planning to attend the 2009 reunion at Quantico,VA,on 23 Oct. & 24 Oct.2009? ;DDon't mind me-I'm just a 'Crazy Old Man',starting to beat the drum? 8-)Yes,it still is a ways to go before the time gets here? Mark your calenders & make your plans,as soon as we have the 'Reunion Information'? As a member of the West Coast Team, mark the end of your 2009 calender, with the entry '2010 reunion-MCAS,Miramar-in Sept.'10? :)Take care & my best-Semper Fi- RichW/49

Welcome back Rich. Looks like everyone is in pretty good spirits after the holidays. We just have to hang on and see what the new guy in town does. Didn't vote for him but I hope he does well for all our sakes. Looking forward to the reunion at Quantico to revisit old friends and meet some new ones. Hope Beaufort is the next one though. Well stay safe and healthy ya'll. Semper Fi JoeD.

JoeD, Glad to hear from you! Sounds like the new guy is finding things are a bit stirred up? That old 4star former Commandant & head of NATO, Jim Jones ought to be able to express some views as well as just taking orders-Salute Crisply & say -'Aye -Aye-,Sir-do an About Face & then march off & put the order into play!! Also, he is leaving 'Gates, head of DOD 'there for a short time? ;D You are right it will be interesting?? I got back to my home base in time, to wash clothes & re-provision before I'm off again? Being retired, I can do that. For January, I'm headed for Japan, there to see a son,in the Air Force-spend 9 days with him & then come back to Georgia. Will be very glad when the 'Information' covering the 2009 AFFR Reunion is released? Yes, Save a few seats at the table for some of us 'New Guys'? :DAlso, you have the 2nd vote for 'Beaufort',I;ve got to see it?? :PMy Southern MCAS was Opa Locka,FL-guess it really tells you when I was in the Corps? JoeD,Stretch,Larry,Swanny, Terry, JoeP & the 'Mikes'; I also was voting for the 'Elephant's the top of the ticket, after that I was all over the lot-I'm getting more & more 'Independent' ? Yep, our side didn't win ,but we have to help the'New Guy & our Nation ? Lets get all that young blood, under some kind of a 'M assive Training Program',use Military Bases that are being Closed or Reduced? Yep, New Name-WPA & CCC organizations;plus a Higher level for the Military-something like a CAP or USCG Aux. & the Reserve programs? ;D True,I would much rather have a Volunteer Force-but with the current war against Terror-we are using all our existing troops & burning them up? :PSemper Fi-The Crazy Old Man-RichW/49
